ErgoGroup becomes the first SaaS provider to use Distal in Norway

ErgoGroup, a leading Nordic IT company headquartered in Norway, and Emillion, a forerunner in security and usability in SaaS and Cloud services, have agreed on deploying Emillion's Distal authentication solution in ErgoGroup?s SaaS services.

"Our larger customers had been asking for single sign-on for a long time. We tried many different solutions, including ADFS, password management and proprietary solutions from many of the better known vendors. However, they all turned out to be too complex and too costly both for us and for our customers. We could have served a few customers with them, but we are targeting hundreds of customers. Distal offers exactly what we were looking for, a solution that does not require our customers to invest in any new solutions or expertise", explains Peter Hjelvik, Head of department at ErgoGroup. "Currently we use Distal to provide more than 3 000 users with single sign-on to Agresso, a leading HR solution, and we are looking to expand it to more applications and more users in the near future. We will also offer Distal to our customers for use in their own services", Hjelvik continues.

Distal authentication gives SaaS providers an easy way to improve the user experience, automate user management and improve security. For SaaS end users it means that they can access SaaS applications by clicking a link in their intranet, without supplying credentials. When they click the link, Distal fetches selected user identity information from the intranet and passes it to the SaaS application. As a result, SaaS customers can control access to the SaaS application with their internal user directory and keep SaaS user profiles up-to-date automatically.
